  • Report of TG Leonardo RAI TRE year 2005 (in Italian)

The Costal Engineering Laboratory, known as LIC, was designed by the researchers of the Water Engineering and Chemistry Department of the Technical University of Bari. It has been designed for the advance research in Maritime Hydraulics and for the technical support for the Public Administration in coastal territorial management. The LIC has been financed by the EU (European Union) and Apulia Region (Programma Operativo Plurifondo Puglia – D.R. 29/10/90 n. 6155, Structural Funds CEE-REG. CEE n. 20522/68 e 4253/88, Sottoprogramma 6, Misura 6.3).
The construction of the laboratory was completed on February 2001. The activity started on the same date. At present many researchers and students work in the lab in order to the study of physical and engineering problems of the coastal environment, using both physical and numerical models. In the laboratory area there are two large tanks for the physical modeling equipped with computers and hydraulic instrumentations.
